Kavonne Brooks
Kavonne Brooks lives off of Tamarind Avenue and is the mother of three girls. Her fourth daughter was killed in a drive-by shooting at the age of 16.
In 2007, Kavonne went on her first parent retreat. While there, she released years of repressed grief due to her daughter’s tragic death. Kavonne graduated from UYI’s “Roots & Wings” parenting class in 2008 and is now taking childcare classes.
Kavonne is actively engaged in Urban Youth Impact, having just successfully run the "Taste of Tamarind" Cook Off at our Family Fun Day in April 2012.
