Executive Assistant (full-time)
The ideal candidate will be experienced in handling a wide range of administrative and executive support-related tasks and will be able to work independently with little or no supervision. This person must be exceedingly well organized, flexible, and enjoy the administrative challenges of supporting a small office of diverse people and programs. The ability to interact with staff at all levels in a fast-paced environment, sometimes under pressure, while remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful, and efficient, with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality, is crucial to this role. Expert-level written and verbal communication skills, strong decision-making ability, and attention to detail are equally important.
Qualifications
- 4+ years experience supporting at the executive level
- Excellent calendar management skills, including the coordination of executive meetings and travel arrangements
- Strong knowledge of MS Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Special event planning experience
- Experience developing relationships with volunteers and donors
- Familiarity with the Shelby database program
- Minimum bachelor's degree
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and schedule the Executive Director's appointments and calendar.
- Coordinate phone coverage and check messages.
- Communicate and handle incoming and outgoing electronic communications on behalf of the Executive Director.
- Ensure sufficient inventory of office supplies.
- Prepare materials for Board meetings or other events as requested.
- Prepare personal letters, thank you notes, and bulk mailings for the Executive Director.
- Handle data entry and update donor information.
- Generate weekly donor thank you letters and receipts.
- Plan Urban Youth Impact's two annual outreach events and coordinate the volunteer planning committee.
- Act as a representative of the Executive Director and Urban Youth Impact by embracing the mission and communicating it.

Education Coordinator (full-time)
The ideal candidate will be experienced in all facets of youth education. They will assist in the creation of a strategic plan to improve youth holistically -- spirit, body, and mind. The candidate will be able to work independently with little or no supervision. This person must be exceedingly well organized, flexible, and enjoy the administrative challenges of supporting a small office of diverse people and programs. The ability to interact with staff at all levels in a fast-paced environment, sometimes under pressure, while remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful, and efficient, with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality, is crucial to this role. Expert-level written and verbal communication skills, strong decision-making ability, and attention to detail are equally important.
Qualifications
- 8+ years experience as a teacher or classroom educator
- Experience developing curriculum and measuring outcomes with results tracking tools
- Ability to train staff on best practice techniques for literacy improvement and homework assistance
- Experience in the role of school principal or vice principal strongly preferred
- Minimum bachelor's degree
Responsibilities
- Develop and track measurable outcomes in the following areas: academic, spiritual, physical, and social/behavioral.
- Develop programming to accomplish the above outcomes.
- Track students' educational progress through UYI's online software, report cards, Edline, parent contact, and school contact.
- Continuously analyze and improve The Leadership Academy's program elements, monthly monitoring, and staff deliverables to ensure that outcomes are reached.
- Facilitate our Leadership Academy Education Advisory Council, High School Youth Advisory Council, and parent meetings.
- Act as a representative of Urban Youth Impact by embracing the mission and communicating it.

Leadership Academy Mentor (part-time)
The ideal candidate will be experienced in working with youth, preferably in an urban context. Must be exceedingly well organized, flexible, and enjoy the challenges of ministering to children at a small, faith-based non-profit organization. The ability to interact with staff at all levels in a fast-paced environment, sometimes under pressure, while remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful, and efficient, with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality, is crucial to this role. The ability to work independently and manage a classroom of 10-15 children is a must.

Qualifications
- 2+ years experience working with youth
- Must be able to work independently
- Strong classroom management skills

- Advanced reading and math skills

- Must pass a security background check
Responsibilities
- Assist youth with reading curriculum and completion of homework.
- Lead a variety of activities including arts and crafts, recreation time, team building games, educational games, computer lab time, free time activities, and life skills lessons.
- Maintain contact with families regarding students' needs and progress.
- Maintain contact with schools and teachers regarding students' needs and progress.
- Assist in gathering necessary data for monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
- Maintain attendance, performance, and progress records and provide that data to the Program Director for the completion of required reports.

Communications Coordinator (part-time)
The ideal candidate will be experienced in managing a wide range of communication and graphic design-related tasks and will work independently with little or no supervision. This person should be creative, with the ability to develop story ideas and create art in the form of brochures, invitations, and website pages. Must be exceedingly well-organized, flexible, and enjoy the challenges of producing a variety of communications pieces for a small, faith-based non-profit organization. The ability to interact with staff at all levels in a fast-paced environment, sometimes under pressure, while remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful, and efficient, with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality, is crucial to this role. Expert-level written and verbal communication skills, strong decision-making ability, and attention to detail are equally important. Experience managing a communications department and knowledge of local media outlets a plus.
Qualifications
- 3+ years experience in a communications role
- Public relations and marketing experience
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including editing
- Graphic design ability and familiarity with Pages, Publisher, or a similar program
- Familiarity with website design and content management systems
- Familiarity with email marketing programs such as Constant Contact and social media such as Facebook and blogging
- Comfortable using both a PC and Mac and a strong knowledge of MS Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Experience with digital photography
- Minimum bachelor's degree in Communications or a related field of study
Responsibilities
- Design and provide written content for UYI's annual report, quarterly newsletter, brochures, and special events items.
- Manage internet-based communications including UYI's blog, email blasts, and Facebook page.
- Oversee all content and changes to the website.
- Write, edit, and produce monthly letters and mailings for senior and program staff.
- Create all internal communications.
- Develop and maintain the communications calendar.
- Assist with other administrative projects when requested.
