Back2School Blast

In August 2009, Urban Youth Impact held its 4th annual Back2School Blast for the students and families involved with UYI. Over seventy families received 175 backpacks filled with school supplies, along with 200 bags of free groceries courtesy of Church in the Farms, J&J Produce, and Publix.  The event also offered free haircuts and health exams to ready the students for the new school year.  Thanks to the help of 130 volunteers, the children enjoyed flag football, outdoor games, face painting, and arts and crafts.  165 unused backpacks filled with school supplies went to seven schools and organizations after the event.
