Urban Youth Impact Mission

Urban Youth Impact exists to love, equip and empower inner-city youth and their parents to fulfill their God-given purpose.

Founded in 1997, Urban Youth Impact serves the Tamarind Avenue corridor and surrounding area in West Palm Beach.  The area has notoriously high crime rates – almost three times the national average for all crime types.  32% of youth living in the community are not expected to graduate from high school, over 50% live below the poverty level, and it is more likely that youth from our community will go to jail than graduate high school.

Through its programs, UYI seeks to reverse troubling trends and fulfill its mission by offering programs designed to develop critical life-skills that result in less juvenile crime, fewer teen pregnancies, less substance abuse, less child abuse/domestic violence, and fewer school drop-outs.

Success Story

TerryonTerryon Chapman also grew up in the hood but did not get involved with Urban Youth Impact’s programs while his brothers attended. He was led away by the streets and by 19 was serving time for armed robbery.

While in prison, an older inmate told him “Do good for once and see how far you get.” This reminded him of Urban Youth Impact and the good he had seen in his brothers from being involved.

Where Your Money Goes

Expenses breakdownUrban Youth Impact takes its stewardship responsibility very seriously.  We are pleased that 89 cents out of every dollar given to our work goes directly to fund programs and services that help us fulfill our mission to love, equip and empower inner-city youth and their parents to fulfill their God-given purpose.   In addition to conducting annual audits, Urban Youth Impact is also a member of the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability, which demonstrates our compliance with established standards for financial accountability, fundraising and board governance.

Annual Report

Annual Report 2011With the start of the new year, I truly enjoy taking time to look back at the past year to celebrate all God has accomplished in the lives of those served by Urban Youth Impact.

As part of the reflecting process, we produce our annual report.  I know you will be pleased to read how your investment in Urban Youth Impact is paying dividends in changed lives.  All we did to “step-up” this year was made possible by God’s grace and through your generous support.
