A-M-A-Z-I-N-G
The other day a kindergartener, Miles, was listening to a book in the hallway. He was, in theory, supposed to be reading along while listening. Terryon, our facilities manager/discipline assistant who grew up in the community, walked by. He sat down to spend a few minutes with Miles, and he quickly realized that Miles wasn’t recognizing the words on the page.
Terryon started pointing to words one-by-one as the audio book continued. Knowing he had to leave soon, Terryon picked out one word to break down to teach Miles – amazing. Terryon covered each syllable, teaching Miles to sound out the word. Then they went letter by letter over and over until Miles could spell “amazing” on his own.
Terryon had to show off his latest prodigy, so they went into the kindergarten/first grade classroom to show his classmates. Later, when Miles’ dad came to pick him up quickly spelled out, “a-m-a-z-i-n-g”! His dad was beaming from ear to ear.
Your giving funds amazing results like a kindergartener who knows how to spell that word! The attention and praise Miles has gotten is sure to be memorable, spurring him on to greater, more amazing accomplishments in the years to come.
